Here's another use for this tray

I have to admit I've never made Yorkshire Pudding before but I really like it and might try it. However, I actually bought this pan to bake eggs. I've been looking for the perfect baking sheet for years to use baked eggs for egg muffins, eggs benedict or just making sunny side eggs for breakfast and the best I could find is a regular muffin pan. It works, but the diameter of the eggs is too small, the height is too high, and the boiled eggs are difficult to remove. WHY BAKE EGGS There are several good reasons to bake eggs. First, they're healthier because you don't need oil or fat in the pan. Secondly, when frying the eggs, you have to be careful that the underside doesn't become tough and the top remains runny. Third, the edges of the scrambled eggs become thin and brittle and less desirable to eat than the rest of the egg. And finally, the number one reason to bake eggs is that you can just pop them in the oven and forget about them at 350F for 8-10 minutes while you cook the rest of the meal and they turn out perfect every time if you timing right you can simultaneously bake your bacon and have it cooked and ready to serve with minimal cleanup. WHY THIS IS AGAINST I've never found a more perfect baking sheet for boiling eggs for two. There are 4 positions. So if you use a regular large egg, the thickness of the egg is about ΒΎ inch. This means there is enough space on top of the tray to avoid spills. To further prevent splashes, the tray has a rim around it to contain anything that might splash. The sides of each position are slightly sloped, unlike the so-called top muffin tins, which usually have straight sides. Boiled eggs can be easily removed with a small spatula. However, at the same time, please note that due to the beveled sides, the advertised diameter size of 4" is a bit misleading, the cavity is 4" at the top and about 3-1/2" at the bottom, so the actual diameter of something cooked is somewhere in the middle, it happens to be the same size as an average English muffin.By the way, a four position tray is just right for cooking just one egg if you're eating alone, two eggs if you're cooking a couple of egg muffins, or 4 Eggs when cooking breakfast Call this tray commercial grade It is much heavier and stronger than most aluminum trays but not as heavy as cast iron The extra thickness of the metal is to cook the eggs evenly and the design prevents that they warp in the oven. The nonstick surface is not a coating that can peel food off and stays permanent.I use quite a bit of aerosol nonstick spray and wis blot it with a paper towel before cooking. And the tray can just be thrown in the dishwasher with everything else. The pan came in a plastic bag with no indication of the maker or place of manufacture. The source given here doesn't directly match any company I can find, but they appear to be for commercial kitchens, which might explain the lack of retail labeling. BONUS Good news: This pan is perfect for my toaster oven. This is the ultimate convenience: I don't have to fire up my big oven just to bake 4 small dishes. VALUE This is very good value for money, which is good because I bake a lot of eggs.
