Contacted Gurmia for a thermometer. They couldn't have been better and immediately replaced my thermometer with a new one. I had no problems at all with the new one. Such a difference when your item actually works. Thank you Gurmiya! I am very disappointed in this product. I spent a lot of time researching different thermometers before settling on this one. When it worked it was great. But then it just didn't work anymore. I changed the batteries, I could not understand that there was something wrong with the device. Of course, replacing the meat thermometer I'd been researching for a long time wasn't on my priority list, and I still suspected it was my fault because it worked. In the end my husband (an engineer and a handyman in everything) confirmed it was broken. I don't think I have any claims against the company but I can caution you to save your money. That seems like a great idea, but I think there's something about the wand that if you open it wrong or something, the wand stops measuring heat and hence the whole thing doesn't work.
