My introduction to mechanical keyboards started with HyperX Alloy Origins. When it came time to change my old membrane keyboard, I wanted to try something new, especially since the phrase “mechanical keyboard” sounds very tasty. During the selection process, it turned out that the main thing is to find an option with red switches, since they do not sound much louder than the membrane one. The blue ones don't fit exactly - their metallic “clunk” will even wake up the dead. HyperX Alloy Origins immediately captivated me with a completely aluminum deck, small size due to the “skeletal” structure, beautiful lighting and those very red switches (they don’t supply others to 2022, so you can’t go wrong). Plus, as it turned out, it has a detachable wire with a Type-C port - very convenient, you can choose the length of the cord, and it’s not bad for transportation. While waiting for a courier with a keyboard, I was most worried that it would still turn out to be loud, but my fears were not confirmed. The typing sound is very pleasant, and the key travel is smooth, after the membrane keyboard there are very interesting sensations. Mechanical keyboards are really nice to type on! In two months of use, I managed to work on it and play, and I can definitely say that this is not a purely gaming keyboard, typing on which is a complete torment, but quite a normal option if you need to work. Playing is also excellent - keystrokes are felt very clearly, there is no delay at all. As for the appearance, there is also nothing to complain about. The aluminum deck I mentioned looks great and makes the keyboard feel solid. The backlight is very bright and colorful. With the help of a proprietary utility, you can adjust the backlight, but, to be honest, it could be more comfortable. There are very few ready-made options, there are none at all for certain games, there is nowhere to download presets. This is perhaps the only drawback of the keyboard. So if you (like me) backlight settings are not critical, but the basic "wave" suits you, then feel free to take it.
