Definitely prevents liquids from freezing
Tough plastic case that wraps around drum and secures with straps. It does an excellent job of heating water barrels for livestock in very cold times in OK. There is no icing at all. While they took 2 months to warm up where not needed. Saved a lot of worry when we ran out of time.
