It is a gamble to blindly order these items online. I've had several different brands of emergency radios in the past and some were twice the price of this one and didn't live up to my expectations. I expect the device to be able to provide its own power supply to run the flashlight for a reasonable amount of time and provide clear weather warnings in emergencies. Anything beyond that is fine with me. This unit has a bright light, radio and emergency weather transmission works well with excellent indoor antenna reception, it only takes a minute to crank charge to give over an hour of light and about 15 minutes of simultaneous radio and light which is nice is . The solar charge seems sufficient for emergencies, I kept it on the windowsill in clear sun for about 6 hours and its charge was enough to power the unit with lights and radio for about 30 minutes. When fully charged via USB, it was able to charge my Galaxy Note 9 phone by about 15% before it stopped charging. The device still had enough power to keep the backlight and radio running continuously for another 30 minutes, it probably just isn't delivering enough power to keep the phone charged via USB after a certain percentage of the battery has been drained. I charged the radio from empty to full in about 1.5 hours via USB. I was able to charge a dead Galaxy S4 battery from 0% to 38% before not charging further, and again the radio still had a charge for about half an hour of continuous lighting and radio. The hand crank and solar panel don't seem to charge other devices via USB, they only work to charge the internal battery. This is a handy emergency battery, it says 1200mAh on the box and it seems to be right. I plan on buying a few more of these to throw in car and home prep sets. Very happy with this radio at a price you can't find!
