I've never had a connected scale before, so I was curious to see how well it would work. I struggled with this for a while before figuring out how to properly get it working and interacting with its application. I will describe some of the characteristics of its launch, hoping that it will save you from disappointment. It's pretty obvious that you need to put in the batteries (included) first. It's set to kilograms now that it ships, so the first thing you should do is change it to pounds if you're in the US. You can change the units from within the application, but of course it needs to be connected, which isn't the case yet. Turn the scale over and remove the battery cover. You will see a button labeled Unit. Press the button once to change the weight unit to pounds. Step on the scale to see if it has changed. Then you need to download the Fitdays app from your app store and set up an account for yourself. I have an iPhone and was able to download it with no problems. Basically, the procedure for connecting a scale to a phone via Bluetooth is as follows: turn on the scale, tap "Device" in the app, and hope for the best. When I did that and clicked Bluetooth on the next page, I got the message "Bluetooth is not authorized". What you need to do is go to settings, find the Fitdays app and allow it to use Bluetooth. After that, the scale was quickly recognized by the app and everything was fine. On the iPhone, the app sends its data to the Apple Health app if you allow it. To do this, go to Share in the Health app, click Apps and check the desired data items on the Fitdays tab. After I did that, everything started to communicate well. After that's all done, to use the scale, simply stand on it and wait for the weight to stop flashing. Stay on the screen and other data items (BMI, body fat, heart rate, heart rate index, etc.) will be filled. The heart rate lasts the longest. Once all items are complete, your phone (if in range) will beep to indicate a successful transfer to the app. The scale measures 15 different data items. How accurate are they? Well I can vouch for the weight and heart rate as they are on par with other machines I use. Miscellaneous? I can not say. The app requires some experimentation, but it offers quite a lot of plotting and sharing options. The instruction manual is quite decent. So the scale works and communicates reliably with my phone and the Health app. It seems to work well and I will use it regularly. It is very interesting to look at BMI and other data items. I hope you can get through my procedural notes faster than I can. The price seems reasonable to me, especially with the 35% discount coupon found on the product page today.
