Despite all the bad reviews, I pulled the trigger. I was looking for a way to make lap swimming more enjoyable. As others have mentioned repeatedly, it turns off when diving (i.e. every time you turn your head to inhale). So if you can swim your head out of the water, you're good to go. I've thought about leaving them for other water sports like surfing or kayaking, but unless I buy a waterproof case for my Note 3 or stay within 25ft of shore, what's the point really? I had no trouble charging my device and taking it out to charge as some others have mentioned. Looks like I'm back to masters swimming.
