Review on Glidecam XR-PRO Camera Stabilizer: Optimal Stability for Cameras up to 10 lbs by Daniel Casper

Revainrating 4 out of 5

No small adjustments, complex setup.

I bought this with the intention of switching from gimbal to skid cameras. BUT I will wait until I have money for a more expensive model. Below is a list of pros and cons. do not get me wrong. it has a place in the market. but that is by no means my market. Cons: - There are no minor fixes included. You need to adjust your camera body on the slider and slowly adjust it in small increments - there's no way to dynamically and statically balance this. That's why the Slipcam spins wildly when you rotate it. I could balance it statically and dynamically separately, but not both at the same time. It takes so long to balance that you don't even want to use it when you finally get close to balance. Pros: - The price is right. where it should be for something that does its job - the quality is very good. the handle does not rotate and does not rotate. high quality weights. The biggest problem with the XR series is the lack of adjustment knobs. or even that you can't buy a head with adjustment knobs on their website.

Pros
  • High test scores for grip and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
