According to the directions, the coating needs to be rubbed with oil, but I didn't like how it turned out. As a consequence of this, I oiled only the initial section, and after that I fried the rest of it without adding any more oil, and it turned out just as well! Big positive for me. Within four minutes, the waffles were cooked evenly and wonderfully, much to the joy of both the children and me. Has some drawbacks. Cons: Washing it can be difficult. Only a wipe or cloth that can be used both wet and dry, as specified in the instructions, can be utilized. I was able to clean it in the end, but it was a time-consuming process because there are a lot of openings and you have to squeeze into each one.
