Leaking everywhere for replacement water filter

I've been buying filters similar to this one for years, this one seems attractive and comparable for the price, inlet/outlet ports and gasket slightly larger than other standard filter sizes. This was due to be replaced so I couldn't get it to sit in my standard GE whole house filter without leaking. Had to go to a big store to get a filter that doesn't leak to replace it.
