I used to have a smaller version of this style of pepper mill and one I had used in the past for a number of years which ground the peppers much finer. I bought a different type of pepper mill last year but it didn't grind the pepper into smaller pieces, it mostly came out really big chunks and the blades didn't work well and it worked better for the salt. I use pink Himalayan salt. So I went in search of a pepper mill similar to the one I had before. This one is almost exactly the same, except it's a much larger version. I would say this is what you see in a restaurant or when you want to be trendy on holidays or in the evenings with guests around the dining table. I like it because it has quite a bit of pepper and grinds it down to a medium grind consistency. I hope this lasts a reasonable amount of time. I really like this grinder but for kitchen use a shorter one would be nice. I really like how it's done.
