Compact, portable and efficient for travel - not recommended for desktop use

I wouldn't recommend it for desktop or general use as the included cable skews badly when traveling but . This is a tourist dock. He does that very well. A standalone device and a power adapter are all you need. As a travel dock, I'm looking for reliability, compactness and a balance of versatile and essential features. Reliability is what has been achieved in recent months. It's a marathon, not a sprint, but we're doing great. The big plus is that you have one less cable to forget. Compactness - an excellent balance is achieved here. I used the smaller size but at the expense of functionality and durability. Versatility and a must - two HDMI ports offer a great way to connect to all your devices. HDMI can (almost) always switch to DVI-D and can often be connected to DisplayPort. In addition, any TV can work with it. As a last resort (or even a plan A for things like presentations), HDMI is great. Ethernet is a must for me and delivers there while USB can cover everything else. It could use more USB ports, audio, or an SD slot, but I think the compromise here is good. Compared to other docks: I put it on top for use when traveling. I would place it below for desktop use. Desktop-oriented docks are larger and heavier (both of which help hold the dock in place when dragged) and allow for longer cables. The latter is the biggest compromise here. I wouldn't want to use this tiny cable for desktop use, but then again, this is a travel dock.
