Bought a set for each of my children and they both love them. With two kits you can build pretty much anything yourself (I definitely recommend buying two kits). But the structures they build are unstable most of the time. Many pole pieces do not fit into the ball joints as tightly, often requiring repair and rebuilding. You definitely need to use a light sheet to cover up as any regular blanket is too heavy and will ruin everything you build. Great Gift - Kids will keep them busy for hours, but some upgrades may be needed to make them sturdier.
