Broke after 6 months, customer service is HORRIBLE

Bought this unit in June 2012, it is now December 2012 and it is already broken. Trusting the company, I contacted Magnavox (using the customer support number on their website) who then directed me to the Funai support website for a live chat. I jumped into a chat with someone from Funai who said "Hi" and then stopped texting after 5 minutes. Tried again, the same. The 3rd time it's magic and after speaking to CS rep #3 he told me I was 'under warranty' and called another CS number to set up the exchange. Which led me BACK to the Magnavox customer service number (see step 1). above), after which I was able to speak to a representative after waiting 15 minutes. Bottom line: They can replace the DVD player as soon as they get my broken one (and won't send a replacement *until they get mine), which is the best they can do. To get a refund, I would have to go through this process THREE MORE TIMES to replace a total of 3 of their broken DVD players before I could get a credit or refund for my $35. So my choices are 1) wait a month to replace my DVD (do you have kids? Do you know how ridiculous that sounds?), or 2) buy a new DVD player from another manufacturer and never buy a Magnavox or Buy Funai product. no matter how cheap, should break after 6 months. Attention buyers! They won't even be able to help you if it breaks!
