Installed one for each of my two aquariums and I no longer have to turn the lights on and off manually. You set the on/off time with the black switches on the perimeter. You set the current time. Plug in and all. All relatively cheap. You might even need to get a few more of these villains for your Christmas garland next year. My only complaint, not enough to detract from the product's review, is the 3 prongs and the size. This means it has to take up multiple spaces on the extension or go straight into the wall. If your house is similar to mine, I need extension sockets. So plan ahead.
