I used to buy a cheaper name brand mandoline slicer that turned out to be junk. I wanted a good one, but I didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for it, so I took a chance. This turned out to be a very good opportunity. I am very happy with this slicer. It is very durable with multiple blade options. You can adjust the thickness of the slices, which you couldn't do with the cheaper one. It's easy to keep in place, so you don't have to worry about it slipping off and causing injury. My favorite part is the holder that you attach to what you are cutting. It features a floating pin system that moves as you cut so you never have to raise your hand and it gets to the last tiny bit. No waste. This thing is perfect for slicing onions into onion rings or whatever, literally getting every last bite. It's very sharp, so it only takes a few seconds to cut a large onion. Faster than finding a knife! I didn't use all of the blades as I only wanted them for cutting, but all of the blades and components are well made, strong, very sharp and seem as easy to maintain as a cutting blade. I highly recommend this product!
