Very good for cleaning my goats' hooves. It really doesn't feel heavy enough to tug on a horse's legs. The handle is comfortable and very comfortable in the hand, which I like very much. I can get along well with that too. I find myself plucking their hooves with claw clippers more often than with a hoof hook simply because I already have one in my hand and handy. I have two of these. The one that stays in the goat's tool box and the one that stays in the horse's tool box. It works equally well for both. Oster usually offers excellent quality products. So far I haven't been happy with any of them.
