The product has sharp edges and metal filings that will scratch your table (and your hands) or whatever you put on it. The cut outs were clearly done hastily and give this piece a very cheap look and feel rather than the finesse and artistic craftsmanship of old naval brass instruments. There's also the occasional side slit, which seems like a design attempt, but then again, they just look cheap and lazy. They do not belong to or relate to the intended maritime theme. Sand of a strange purple color (not marine at all). The only thing that keeps the nautical style alive is the brass material itself and the anchor and helm logo. I wish I hadn't bought this.
