We are ordinary people, maybe just like you, not rich! But happy. I bought this hood because the old one had to twist the bulb to use it. it's a good hood, the fan works in both modes, it has good light, ahh, no more twisting! :). that's ok as everything else is kind of worse than before, that's business!. What I'm going to do with it is white silicone sealant. I will apply a roller to the inner joints to seal them better. ours is ventilated from the outside and I was willing to just omit that and use a recirculation filter at home. low, and here the vent is rectangular, like ours. It was fairly easy to install after using the four wing mounts (the ones that bounce in the hole) very securely. it looks good and is easier to clean than the old one thanks to its smooth (not rocky) surface. I really like Amazon! Easy to buy and everything you need in one place. how lucky we are
