Review on TOTO SS113 01 SoftClose Transitional Toilet Seat by Cesar Carter

I bought this unit from Revain 3 years ago so why am I reviewing it now? . I installed this seat on a Toto Drake II. Now that my kids have gone to the toilet, they can use any toilet in the house by themselves. except for the main bathroom because of that toilet seat. Like the JRP (see previous review for a picture) this toilet seat does not sit flat on my toilet. There is a significant gap - about 1/2 inch - which looks exactly like the picture JRP posted in their review. I'm not worried about the aesthetics - I'm worried about the fact that when a small child (my child) uses this seat, their hips sometimes get trapped in that gap between the toilet and the seat. It happens to children. and no adults, because adults sit on the seat while small children (3-6 years old) get to the toilet, mostly climb on it - and then get pinched. To me, this means that when children run into our bedroom in the morning and jump onto our bed to play, we have to interrupt our half-asleep, half-awake interaction with the children to fully wake up and take them to the toilet and sit on it . Instead of forcing children to go to the bathroom, there is a battle between parents over who will collapse first and get out of bed to take them to the bathroom. The toilet seat shouldn't be the cause of a sleepy Saturday morning brawl.
