Review on DELSEY Paris Dailys Compartment Backpack by Susan Loera

Attractive backpack with a few flaws

I will write a review on this product because despite 2 reviews they have not given a review. It's really a nice backpack. Gray with darker accents looks chic and modern. The bag is divided into 2 compartments that are accessible through separate zippers. The back is designed for your electronic devices with a Velcro strap that keeps them secure in the foam. My Chromebook fits in really well and there is still room left. Access to this section is via a rear 3/4 zip (on the back, next to the body). The front has a couple of pockets for small items, a nylon shoe pocket, and what appears to be a (small) water bottle cup. The bag can hold a lot of things for its size, very organized. Now my assessment: Pros: 1. shape and smaller size just right for me; holds my Chromebook securely behind my back. I don't want or need a heavy backpack on my back. It was intended to be an addition to my 21" carry-on and attaches to the telescoping handle with a back strap. has a soft back where the laptop is stored. 3. There is a very valuable zippered expansion section that really adds a lot of room to the inner front half of the bag, about 2 inches. If you don't need more space, you can zip it up and make it invisible. 4. The bag includes a combination lock - a wise touch. The zippers can be cleverly attached to the two loops on the side and snapped into place. Adds some anti-theft protection. 5. Made from a durable material which I think will hold up well over time. I don't know if it's waterproof or durable. Not listed in the product description. The fabric is a light neutral gray color with dark accents and has an attractive sheen on the surface that looks cool 6. Beautiful and thoughtfully designed packaging, obviously very well done. Cons: 1. Shoulder straps sit so tight on my shoulders that they rub against the front of the shoulder. I could see that it can become annoying after wearing it for a long time. My current bag touches my arm, but not enough to be noticeable. I think increasing the contour of the straps will solve this problem. They are pretty straight.2. Access to the laptop compartment is at the rear, UNDER the shoulder straps, rather than in front of them like most backpacks. This makes accessing the laptop compartment more difficult as you have to place the bag all the way forward and then slide the straps on either side so they don't get in the way of the back zipper. Trying to keep them out of the way is annoying because they keep trying to get back in the middle. No quick access area, although you may find your laptop more secure as the zipper is against your back and more difficult to reach. Your choice. Personally, I'd rather have the zipper in front of the straps at the top of the bag, which doesn't require fumbling with the shoulder straps to get to my laptop. The shoulder straps are not removable. This is an issue if you decide to carry it by the side handle like a briefcase. Because the shoulder straps are non-detachable, the bottom shoulder strap will dangle in mid-air under the bag, somewhere between the bag and your knee, making this side handle useless and awkward to use. To be an effective side handle, the shoulder straps must be removable and stowed in a pocket on the outside of the bag. I consider this a major design flaw.4. Water bottle holder (more like a cup). This is a separate piece and I suggest you put your water bottle inside and then toss it in your bag. There is no holder for a water bottle on the outside of the bag and no holder on the inside to attach it. That aspect alone is a deal killer for me. I want my drink to be easily accessible from the outside. I don't want to open my bag and look for it at the bottom of the bag. Useless accessories IMHO.5. shoe bag. This includes a small nylon bag for a pair of shoes. Hm. I really don't understand. Maybe it's French? I don't carry an extra pair of shoes with me, but if I did, they would take up most of the space in this bag. Sun. ?6. Two mysterious elastic bands are attached to one side, which are located inside. They aren't big enough to hold a water bottle or even a small umbrella. I cannot understand the purpose of these rubber bands and they are not mentioned in the description. I prefer my bag to be intuitive, not mysteries. Overall this is a good bag but there are some design issues that make it uncomfortable to use and shoulder straps that are a little uncomfortable. They should be more defined. But it's a chic, gender-neutral euro bag that's pleasing to the eye and very well constructed. I would recommend it if you don't mind the above cons.

  • Clever strap on the back to slide over the wheeled frame
Cons
  • Modern
