So I bought this keyboard after playing games for about 30 years. I'm usually suspicious of expensive keyboards for a number of reasons. I usually prefer to buy cheap $20 keyboards because they might not be great, but they're easy to replace and well worth the money. (If the keyboard is $20 I'd be happy if it lasted 6 months to a year.) Now on to that complete piece of junk aka the HyperX Alloy Elite 2. DO NOT BUY THIS KEYBOARD. Most mechanical keyboards aren't worth the money as most of them use non-standard parts and what's worse it's usually so difficult to swap out parts, replace etc (so they can sell you warranties and parts), that you are better off getting a mid-range or cheap keyboard. After 6 months my keyboard was pretty dirty. So I decided to clean it since I heard mechanical keyboards are easier to clean. It turned out right, although it took about an hour. I had to borrow a keycap remover from my neighbor because my keyboard didn't have one. (For $130 I'd rather get an FFS keycap remover.) Cleaned keyboard, and after that, although very gently and following directions closely, the left CTRL key now has issues. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I tried cleaning it again, but since the keyboard can only be operated by pressing keys, I couldn't fix it. I spent the better part of 2 weeks troubleshooting, called HyperX, they told me it was my problem, tried to figure out how to replace the switches and found that a switch puller was not included. Finally I'm so fed up. that I decided that the $130 I spent on this piece of junk was better spent on cartharsis than printing. So I took it to my living room and smashed it into pieces with a hammer. That's the only thing this piece of shit is worth. Save yourself the hassle: buy a cheap keyboard and simply replace it if necessary. Don't waste your money on those fancy, overpriced, insane bunch of keyboards like this one.
