Review on Tablecraft 10 oz Stainless Steel Dry Rub Shaker with Handle - Silver, 10-Ounce by Edwin Kreps

Ideal for homemade blackening spice

I often cook blackening dishes and make my own blackening spice mix. Commercially available blackening spice mixtures from the top chefs who invented the process contain too much salt. I needed a good shaker for my mix. It had to have the following properties: - screw cap - cap without friction fit. I do NOT want to dump an entire can of seasoning on a $20 steak. There are different sized holes in the top to measure the amount of spices I use. Construction made of stainless steel. Big enough to hold a reasonable amount of spices so I don't mix up new batches every few weeks - not huge - so big that it doesn't fit in my spice rack. I don't need the size of a diner sugar dispenser - my blackening spice shakes out evenly. I added a large pack of desiccant to remove moisture and make shaking easier. I've seen some complaints about collecting spices on top of the canister. So true. I tapped the rim of the sink with the canister and it cleared up immediately. I ordered this spice shaker and it is perfect. To give a sense of size, I photographed a stainless steel shaker with a 1.8 ounce Morton & Bassett Spice Bottle for size comparison. Hope that helps!
