I chose this item because I thought Ruby's Costume knew how to dress a dog and I liked the pattern and colors of the fabric. (I received a shirt with a different pattern and color - a VERY annoying habit on Amazon.) I received a size that fits her measurements according to the provided size chart. I knew I probably had to make some adjustments since she has very large breasts. I knew it would probably be too long, but it's better that it's long than not reaching her breasts. (God how long it hung off her back, dangling over her butt and around her hind legs.) The main issue that made it unbearable was because of something I had never thought about. (I'm new to dog clothes shopping.) The "top button" portion of the collar is meant to be open like a person wears a casual shirt. It works for the person because the shoulders prevent the shirt from falling on the body when you move. Dogs are wired differently. When she tried to move, the shirt slipped and shifted, making it impossible to fasten. I've changed it many times, but the collar opens wide, the shirt rides too far down the body, and the sleeves on her front legs went so low that she immediately tripped, and her front legs either got stuck in the sleeve or fell out of the shirt , the neck should be securely closed to stabilize the shirt in front of the body. There is no clasp and the design doesn't make it easy to add one. it would have had to be redesigned with significant modifications to become a wearable object for the dog. I found out too late and couldn't get out the window. For the dog owner who wants a button down dog shirt, I recommend looking for one that closes securely much higher on the neck. This goes a long way in helping the rest of the shirt stay in place when the dog moves. The open chest look does not work in the dog. This shirt is only good for posing.
