My chic dining chairs have raised padded seats surrounded by lots of carved wood so ties could not be used. I just tucked the cords in so they weren't visible, and the covers fit pretty snugly around the raised padded seats. They are also tailored for chairs that are wider at the front so they fit perfectly. I prefer the clean, minimal look of the slipcovers because my chairs are so ornate. The jacquard design really makes these slipcovers much nicer than regular solid color stretch pillowcases. I am very happy with this purchase.
