I have a pasture that needs to be mown like a yard because of where I live. In summer the dust from the earth is terrible, as are fiery anthills, of which there are many in the south. Ordinary sunglasses don't keep dust out of your eyes, so I went in search of these British WWII aviator sunglasses because they have a tight but comfortable seal around the eyes that keeps both dust and sweat out. With the addition of a good bandana or a cheap dust mask, I am completely protected from the allergens that come up when mowing the pasture. Each of the two eyecups has a flat plane in direct view and another flat plane on the outside. Eye "Glass" for lateral vision. Before I put them on for the first time I thought this arrangement would limit the view, but instead it did not obstruct the view and actually offered a VERY CLEAR front and side view! Don't let that put you off, it's actually a positive trait! The only downside, which may never happen to you, is that a teenager walking by my house thought I was a psycho playing pilot! It's not really a lack of glasses, but in her opinion, it was a disadvantage - living near the "crazy".
