Convenient Wi-Fi Drone for Cars and Parts with APP Remote Control

This small to medium-sized quadcopter is equipped with multiple front and rear video cameras. Video quality leaves much to be desired, but the program has other interesting features + useful documentation. The application instructions are on a separate, color-printed card from the monochrome main booklet. + Safety devices included, if you're a beginner like me you'll definitely need it. Propeller guards have helped my unit survive several accidents. However, they only protect on the sides, not the top or bottom, so I did some cosmetic weathering when I slotted my device into my sloping roof. + I got 12 minutes of flight time during recording and with the prop covers in place. Batteries slide in and out and lock securely without tools. +/- The remote control requires 3 AA batteries. There is a screw on the remote's battery door (a screwdriver is included), but you won't need this screw unless you drop the controller. You also don't need a remote control if you're using a phone. +/- High capacity batteries are charged at 8W via USB+. The retractable phone holder on the bottom can hold my 6 inch phone securely in the case. If your device is too big, the antennas will act as a platform for your phone. The antennas don't grip the phone, but the traction and power is enough to keep it from falling over as long as you don't tilt the controller too much. On my test flight, the street wind was less than 4 mph from the Northwest. The stabilization system is fine, it can fly smoothly with the right control. It was fairly easy to compensate for the wind and maintain the drone's overall position, especially after turning on headless mode. Headless mode makes it easy to record a video of yourself+. When the battery runs out, the drone begins a controlled descent. +/- I used Android to get videos over Wi-Fi through this app. The app does not automatically connect to the drone, I need to connect to the drone's WiFi first in my phone's WiFi settings. Android refuses to connect to Wi-Fi automatically without internet, so I have to go to the Wi-Fi page, connect manually, and then say yes when Android asks me if I want to continue connecting. I have to repeat this somewhat annoying process every time I restart the drone. You cannot adjust the video settings. + Front camera and top-down camera +/- Pressing the photo button takes a 1080p camera photo and saves this 4MB JPG upscaled to 4096 x 3072. +/- The video is streamed to your phone and recorded locally by the app. Sometimes it seems intermittent, which is to be expected since the signal is not completely stable. No sound. The video resolution is 720p at around 4MB/s. Due to the relatively low bit rate, there are many compression artifacts in turbulent videos or whenever the drone is moving. The video is labeled 25 fps and gives you a full 25 fps (I counted different frames per 1 second to test this) but you don't get 25 fps in real time as 7 minutes of video is 10 minutes of real time. The app writes a new file every 10 minutes, but my "10 minute file" is only 6 minutes 51 seconds long. +/- The delay is small but within 1 second. +/- If you're flying in windy conditions and doing a lot of big yoke movements, the video won't look good because it's (of course) not stabilized. +/- The raised rear wing design looks very cool. Unfortunately, with the rear propellers pushing from below and the front propellers pulling up, there is some hazard to objects above and below. To be clear, propellers are designed to stop as soon as they sense they've hit something, but this can still be dangerous compared to a simpler design where all 4 blades are pulled from the top . Starting manually would be a bit risky. +/- Weighs 0.29lbs / 130g with protective cover but has exposed rotating parts so it cannot be flown over people. When I ordered this, it was in the $60 range, which is a normal price for an entry-level FPV drone. Now 8 days later is that $129? I would carefully compare and store the specs.
