As a collector of Macs that Apple considers "old fashioned" or "obsolete", I can say that this very affordable cable makes the maintenance thanks my PowerBook G4 and a 27" iMac, both of which are the main reasons I bought the cable. The second reason - a used LaCie D2 Quadra case with lots of ports including FireWire 800 - struck me a few days after I got the cable had already ordered one. After removing the cable from the box and connecting it to the above computers and hard drive, the drive responded almost immediately. All in all a very good cheap cable. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who needs a FireWire 800 cable but doesn't already have one or needs a replacement.
