Review on 👗 AGB Women's Soft Knit Maxi Skirt - Petite, Standard, and Plus Sizes - Enhanced SEO by Cory Miles

Way overpriced vs quality and fit

Ok so I just finished writing reviews for 4 plus-sized garments that were way too big on me. For a moment there I wondered if I’d lost weight…or if not stepping on a scale for 25 years had finally paid off?! Um, no. Still fat. And this was the skirt that brought me back down to earth. I ordered in grey in the 2X which was not quite generous enough for my ample waist; there’s no real stretch in it either and the fold down waist is poorly done. But it’s not fair to leave a poor or mediocre review based on sizing alone— especially in "plus size” which covers so many differing body types. Frankly this is probably sized just about right for a normal proportional chunky person rather than me who is just all gut. So I’m not advising to necessarily size down. However, the skirt is simply too long for me at 5’5’ w/a 32’ inseam. (I’m fat AND short waisted, yay). I wasn't quite stepping on it but it was flirting with that—and I tried it on with thick soled Doc Martens too. But my real gripe is how thin and cheap the material is. And not thin in a ‘super comfy so who cares’ kind of way like a nice modal or cotton will get you, but in a ‘so thin you better not stand in the sunshine’ cheap kind of way. Look, I’m in my mid 40s so I remember when this sort of skirt was on every rack at every store. I’ve owned plenty of them. It’s an exceptionally basic design, there used to even be a shop called "Units” where you could pick one in any color. That’s how I know the price point here vs quality is highway robbery. So back it went because even in my Docs I was too close to looking barefoot. And it’s too thin and shoddy a fabric; I live in the Hades known as DFW and am all about a thin summer weight garment, but this cheap rayon is not the answer.

Pros
  • I bought 2 of these and, you pay more, but the fabric is sturdier.
Cons
  • The skirt may have a tendency to ride up or bunch, causing discomfort or embarrassment
