Review on Powerful Hamilton Beach Wave Crusher Blender: Blend, Crush, Shake, and Puree with 14 Functions, 40 Oz Glass Jar, and Stainless Steel Design (54221) by Rebecca Waffles

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not quite the wave I expected.

So after reading so many rave reviews about this product, I expected a blender capable of making good hummus or smoothies. nope The frozen fruit smoothie took over 5 minutes to prepare and there was nothing smooth about it; it was super chunky. Same thing happened when I added a can of chickpeas with water, olive oil, and tahini. It took over 20 minutes of repetitive motion to move the heavier parts to the blade, and lots of rest to keep the motor from burning out. The whipped puree button seemed to work better than smoothies and crushed ice, but my result, after a lot of effort and time, was something like very crunchy peanut butter. I kept adding water to make it less thick and therefore possibly easier to mix, but that didn't seem to help much as I ended up with a super soupy, crunchy hummus. I may have gotten a lemon but based on the reviews I was expecting something much better. My old blender died so I currently use my mom's vintage 1970 blender and unfortunately it works just as efficiently as the Hamilton Beach Wave Crusher I tried.
