I made yoghurt twice with the filter. Both batches were full gallons. A gallon of yogurt fit in the bag and was able to pull the drawstring. I tried several hanging options the first time, but didn't want to hang from the closet doors because of the weight. On the second batch, I tried several options as well, and what worked was placing the pouch in a large stainless steel bowl, adding yogurt, and pulling on the string. Then I lifted the full filter, installed a baking cooling rack (coated metal mesh for cooling cookies, etc.) over the same stainless steel bowl, and placed the full filter on top. It sat well on a cooling rack to strain and I could watch the amount of whey to see how it was progressing. Mounting it on a cooling rack also gave it a flat bottom, giving it more surface area to drain when I tried to hang it. Washing requires some fuss to get the yogurt out of the seams, but I just rinsed it under water to make sure I got all the seams and with my fingers to make sure all the seams were brushed out. It air dries very quickly. Overall, the bowls and strainers are a lot simpler and less messy compared to when I used coffee filters and different strainers to make a large batch of yogurt.
