My review isn't just about sizes. I usually wear the Bloch Canvas Boosts but wanted to try something different to see how they work. I also wanted something that wasn't as plain black as the Boosts and maybe a tad sportier but with the same "warm heel/toe" characteristics as large split sole dance shoes. In regular shoes I usually wear an 8. Sometimes depending on the shoe 7.5 but I have a bit wide toe box so usually 8 fits best. I wear a size 9 for the Bloch Canvas Boost. Against my better judgment, I followed the advice in the review and ordered the Sansha Electron in a size 10. She was too big. So I sent them back and ordered a 9. The 9 fitted very well - my toe was on the end of the shoe and bumped a bit but nothing uncomfortable. Despite this, the shoe still felt a bit large. I found the interior of the shoe odd - I think it would be ideal if all areas were "hit" properly - there is a nice support/cushion area just behind the ball of the foot which is great for hitting but takes a little getting used to to feel it there. The split sole is very flexible, so the shoe has to fit the foot perfectly to take advantage of this. My foot tended to just curl up in the shoe instead of clinging to the arch because it was too big for me. She looked really cool though. So it's the fit and the look of the shoe that I think I could break. in /worked with/used BUT the sole of this shoe is just hard plastic and incredibly smooth - it looked like a plastic toy sole or something. What were they thinking? I noticed the outsole look on the first pair but decided they were unstable because they were too big and waited for the second pair. My Bloch amps are a bit slippery when new, but not like the Electrons. It was like ice skating. I have 3 surfaces at home; worn hardwood (less slippery), newer hardwood (fairly slippery), and laminate (can be very slippery), and these are basically the surfaces I use at work. The electrons were hopeless. Just trying it on and taking a few steps on each surface made you feel insecure. I gave them a chance but literally after 5 minutes I realized that all the muscles in my legs were actually trying to stop me from sliding. They went back into the box. I am a Zumba Instructor, I teach 4 classes a week and also go to classes. Maybe this shoe is for something like carpet, rubberized surfaces, or the street? I don't know, but for classic indoor hardwood floors, they're dangerously slippery.
