The 12 inch wheel is the perfect size for a Syrian!
Before I put it in the hamster cage I simply folded some tissues and placed them on the back of the wheel. This reduced the noise to a minimum. If you don't want to spend more than $30 on a large quiet exercise wheel for your hamster and can handle the noise, then this is for you. It's not as durable, but it's half the price, so I'd suggest picking a wheel that fits your budget.
