Review on Mighty Mule Wireless Driveway FM231 by Kody Bradley

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works great but installation is a hassle

Works perfectly and I would give 5 stars if installation details were provided for a fully sealed start. Also, I just finished the installation and have yet to see how it behaves in different vehicles and weather conditions. So, now to the installation. On page 2 of the installation guide under "For best performance” it is recommended to route the signal cable inside the PVC conduit. We live in a country where gophers destroy undermined cables, so running PVC cables was a requirement, not an option. For added protection I also chose to encase the sensor in PVC and seal the entire area up to the transducer. Unfortunately, the included workstand is not a standard PVC size, but I found the included coupler to fit the standard 1" PVC coupler perfectly. See the annotations on the image to see the assembly as it was before burial. "PVC allowed most of the excess cable to be stored, and tightly tape-taping the cables and spraying them with silicone made it much easier to slide them into the 1-inch PVC. and the entire cable) can be removed if necessary. All connections were glued with PVC glue, except for the transmitter to mounting stand connection, which I will wrap with electrical tape so the transmitter can be easily removed if necessary.
