My IT Bands (outer thighs) improved significantly after 10 minutes of self-healing with The Stick. This is an area of the body that is difficult to work on in any other way. If you've tried IT tape exercises on a foam roller (and whimpered and cried), you'll love this device. Much easier to control where to press and how hard. Much less painful and you don't have to squirm on the floor. I like The Stick on other parts of the body, but in my family we've found that everyone has a spot or two they don't like it on. For me it's the middle of the back. But I like it on the upper back, shoulders, calves, shoulders, hamstrings and neck. In some places it is better to have a partner apply it. The rod improves the partner's massage because it makes it easier. I can easily do this to someone when I'm tired or when my hands and arms hurt. It's an odd device and a bit pricey, but it's a great win for those with IT range issues. This is useful for other parts of the body, but only necessary if you are alone or your partner cannot massage you due to tiredness or pain.
