Review on πŸ₯‘ FoodSaver GERYON Vacuum Sealer Rolls: Optimal Storage Solution for Freshness and Convenience by Dave Hammon

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Still new for me and have fun!

Bought primarily for storing hamburgers, turkey patties, chicken breasts or tenders, I enjoyed learning how to use this machine. It's easy to use. You have to be careful that I keep touching the pads of the "buttons" when I put the bag back in place and want to start it. Quick, press stop! I didn't cook fresh meat, but froze it for up to 24 hours and then sealed it moist. Sucking seems normal. I have NOT tested both pouches and have not used a full one, so I cannot say if the seal will hold. I make most as double seals. I'm waiting for an air leak. In the meantime I have sealed the bread and also visibly crushed it on the gentle setting due to too much vacuum. I sealed a packet of cookies in an "aluminum" bag, it turned out great. I find it too easy to touch the food in the pouch when you put the food in or I think leaving greasy fingerprints (after washing hands) or moisture in the seal area. Geryon suggests folding the wide fold at the open end of the bag (and I make mine from a roll), but I still have trouble keeping the bag open and putting in groceries without touching them where they don't . No imprint. After several attempts to clean this area of the packaging inside and out, it actually sealed itself. Of course I need more practice. The machine takes up little space on the counter, the downside is that it can easily be turned upside down. I had no reason to clean it, but it definitely looks easier than other models I've considered. The 8" wide pockets don't really hold much when the stuff is big/thick so I ordered some 11" pockets to try. The price was right. As mentioned, I enjoy; this is my new toy. I love that it has a straight line cutter for making pockets. Given my learning curve and improvement, I would recommend this model.
