I used this product to clean the glass fireplace insert door which is ceramic glass. That works great. I used to use damp paper towels soaked in ash and it worked fine. But this method often requires a lot of force and sometimes a razor blade to go through thicker material. This cleaner is much easier to use. It's about the same consistency as liquid car wax and works about the same. Circular movements and the creosote melts. Wipe it down with a clean cloth before it dries. I have also found that after a few uses the glass stays much cleaner between cleanings due to the silicone shine this product imparts. I can recommend without any problems.
