I bought these for sous vide after seeing the seller's responses in the Q&A that they can be cooked and are suitable for sous vide. My first testing experience was at 137F for four hours with some cheap ingredients. and they worked great. The zipper is very strong and the pockets feel thick. I thought I had a winner. The next day I made a much more extravagant recipe using high quality (expensive) ingredients. The temperature on it was 182F for three hours but I wasn't concerned. These packs seem much stronger than the ziplocks I've used. Two hours after cooking, I found that the packaging was defective. The water bath was full of sauce and there was a lot of water in the bag. Dinner was ruined. We ended up ordering pizza. And my sous vide car was covered in sauce. They may be freezer safe, but don't trust the seller when they say it's sous vide safe. Note: When I ordered I thought it was funny that all the color options show the bags as blue. I ordered the red one and then they came and I saw why the pictures are the same: I got the blue one. It's okay, but why pretend to offer different colors? More importantly, now that I look at the description, I'm amazed at the fact that it doesn't even mention if they're BPA-free. If not, they are completely unsuitable for sous vide, even at lower temperatures, and questionable even for use in the freezer. There seems to be a mention of them being BPA free so now I'm wondering if I should just toss them. I hope to get an answer to this soon.
