I often travel and sleep in hotels and cities around the world. So I was very excited about this product. Did a very good job on the 2 doors of the hotel, slept much better knowing the door was locked from the inside. I've had many times where the maid or an unknown person could just open the hotel room door and many times the hotel room key was accidentally given to me by an occupied hotel room. And up until last year I thought I would be safe if I used the little deadbolt on the hotel door to lock it from the inside. However, the hotel clerk said they had a tool to open the door from the outside. And in a terrorism and hostage situation, I decided to spend $50 on this door knocker. The Hpwever I found on many doors is too short. And if I unscrew part of the doorstop, it pops out to the max. And it seems that when pressure is applied to the door to keep it from opening, a piece of the screw just falls off. So this item works on some doors, but if the hotel room door is 1 or 2 inches off the floor, the door silencer will not be long enough and ineffective.
