We've had this jug long enough to know that each filter can provide us with drinking water and coffee for about 6 months a day. Every spring, our tap water begins to turn green and yellow from algae. After filtration, it is crystal clear and has no musty smell. The only reason it gets 4 stars for "Ease of Use" is that you have to plan ahead and fill the jar before you need it. The water drains after a while, like any other pitcher filter. We love it.!!
