It's strong when used in the smaller size, but when fully extended I have a feeling it might break. If the drawer isn't completely closed, you're probably also lifting the bar along with the towel. It slides out of the drawer very easily. The main problem I have is that it doesn't keep the same width as I put it on for the towel. For me it's annoying which makes it almost useless to me since I use my towel all the time while cooking. Having to move the towel warmer every few minutes forces me to find a spot on the countertop for my towel...which should lift. If your towel is just for decoration, then this is a cute option.
