Review on Light Filtering Cellular Honeycomb Shade: Anthracite, Cordless And Single Cell, 18" W X 48" H by David Ocampo

Decent Quality - Some Hardware Not Included

Surprise Surprise! If you're planning an inside mount installation the included hex-head screws won't work. According to the instructions that come with with the shade, the supplied hex-head screws "will prevent your shade from clicking in place" onto the mounting bracket. The instructions go on to recommend that for an inside mount "you need to use flat-head screws that are NOT included in the mounting hardware package." I have to wonder why they didn't simply include flat-head screws right from the get-go. Flat-head screws would work for both inside AND outside mount installations. DUH! You shouldn't have to rely on that stash of miscellaneous screws, nuts, and bolts you keep in a peanut butter jar on the workbench in the basement to complete the installation.Aside from this frustrating little surprise, the mounting brackets with their spring mounted sliding plate are way over engineered. They do work well, however, and the shade is of decent quality. Once you have the correct type of screw for your mounting preference the installation is straight forward. Just screw the brackets into the window trim, insert the end caps into the shade, and click the shade onto the brackets.
