Review on Plasticplace Gallon White Drawstring Material by Amy Smith

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Fits good; slightly thin side

Good size for our commonly used medium-sized kitchen waste bin (plastic, not stainless steel) with foot-operated lid. The inside dimensions of the hole are 13.5" x 9" and the height is 18" (not including lid height). The first hole I tried to punch was fairly easy (in the range 1-2" below the soldered part the top). "Tunnel") when handling, inserting and placing the bin liner in the usual way, but it could be used. I don't think the thickness of the bags matters as other bags from other manufacturers (Glad, Target and Kirkland) are also 0.70 or 0.69 mil thick. This may depend on the type of resin used. I don't know if it's low density polyethylene (LDPE), linear LDPE, or high density polyethylene (HDPE). The Glad and Kirkland "flexible" technology trash bags hold up well to handling, while the Target inflexible bags hold up well to general handling as well. The second bag held up well to less rough handling, but I can see a slight tear on the upper edge See e of the drawstring "Tunnel". I think the manufacturer needs to reconsider the formula they are using and do more research and development on elasticity, flexibility and tear resistance. The bottom half ripped when it came time to take it out of the bin and didn't crack or spatter when placed in the large bin on garbage collection day. However, I did not throw the bag away or throw it in a large bin. I do not intend to return the product as I believe it will suit our family's needs. Each package costs about 11 cents versus 20-23 cents from other manufacturers.
