To get enough power out of my speakers and sound good in the garden, I needed a source with separate volume controls. Having a wireless adapter that can stream to the receiver's inputs or have Bluetooth gives me access to a fairly large library of music, but the key for me was home automation with the plug-in adapter I use. I needed this output source because it has a physical on/off switch. Electronic on/off switches do not work in my application. The bonus for me is the radio and that's it. For this price I don't expect a lot of frills. It works great for me.
