This isn't rocket science. It has a replaceable steel hinge along with a stand as shown in the picture. The instructions are photos, pretty basic. As long as you carefully loosen the screws and pay attention to the different screw sizes by following the instructions, you should be fine. I carefully replaced my son's stand in about 15 minutes. Mom of the year is here. It's pretty strong. As with other reviews - use common sense. It's not indestructible - tell your child not to be so hard on them. All in all - a great replacement product and tool. I will order again to replace the base of our other switch.
