Very impressed with the ease of use. Basically straight out of the box. When I first turned it on, the temperature reading was 0.1-0.2 from what several other room temperature readers were tracking, using both the actual installed sensor and the wired sensor that came with the kit. Has a backlight for when you are in a darker area or BBQ at night for easier reading. We used this on a 5 pound chicken that we cooked in the oven with a wire probe. There's an alarm you can set when you hit a certain temperature, but I didn't want to use it as we wanted to make sure it read normally. The cooking time was about what you would expect from a chicken of this size and when it reached the temperature we were looking at, we pulled it out and it was cooked to perfection! Very happy with this product and would recommend to anyone looking for a quick read and wire probe for oven/grill use.
