I bought these for calligraphy/handwriting. At first I was very intrigued by the metallic aspect of these pens. One of them called "Silver" isn't actually one, but it's my favorite! It's cream in color and definitely metallic! I made something (calligraphy) for a couple's anniversary gift and used this color as the base color. People really complimented me on how nice it was! However, I'm a bit disappointed with some of the other colors as not only do they not look very metallic, but the other colors aren't very pretty either. What's supposed to be gold works decently as a metal, but it doesn't really look like gold. I'll find something related to other colors because I don't want to waste them! I just wish they lived up to their name more. They are very smooth, so if you use good quality paper they write well on them. I hope they work on some of these to make them as pretty as "silver" and make more metallic colors that are pleasing to the eye. When I bought them the price was great, which is always important to me!
