This skirt is the perfect thinner material. It is not as heavy as some of the thicker skirts but still holds the pleats very well. The waist measurement is accurate but the length is not. I purchased a size 10 and the length is 15", which is actually the length I prefer as I do not have a lot of shape in back. I am 5'11" so it is short but it is a length I am comfortable with. If you have a lot of shape, you may want to go up a size so you can slide it down just a bit. It does have shorts sewn in just in case, however, I easily removed them so I can zip the skirt up and then spin it. I Love these skirts and plan to add more.
