Worth the price

When I first got a cat I went through many cheaper cat foods to find one that I felt I could bet on the ingredients by how much I got for what I spent. Cat Chow, Meow Mix, even finally feeling like my path to Rachel Ray material was worth a lot of money. I used to work in a pet shop so I knew the risks and what to look out for. My cat has never responded badly to this food per se, but she never ate as much as I would have liked and while not slim, she was slimmer than I thought she should be. I first ordered this food for my house cat (on Chewy) in September 2019 and as soon as I embraced the mixes I have noticed an improvement. After a few days of 10% gains, I could tell that she was choosing other products to get hold of the Diamond Naturals pellets, so one day I just took the plunge and never came back. My cat weighs about 9 pounds and is quite strict indoors (her only time outside is on a small 10 x 5 foot patio on the second floor to sit in the sun, there is no exercise there) and she feeds free what means I have a big bowl of food. this piece all the time so she can choose how she wants. She's missing a few teeth from being abused by a previous owner or a street cat in Brooklyn, so this treat is perfect for her - small and easy to chew. A home-made recipe means it doesn't contain more protein than she needs, as overfeeding a high-protein diet to an indoor cat that doesn't need it can lead to liver/kidney damage and weight gain. I spend about $25 on an 18 pound bag, feed her for free and refill her food bowl about once a week or so and this bag has lasted me 4 months and looks like it should last at least 5. (That in turn (or for a single cat fed all day for free from a 3 cup bowl filled about once a week.) Excellent value for money, especially considering how good this food is. I took her to the vet in October for scratches and the vet assumed it was her food until I named Diamond Naturals Indoor Formula as the food and she was pleasantly surprised and complimented my choice of good food.I love this food for my cat - fantastic formula, great value, worth the money even if the pouch has only done a fraction of what it does on mine.
