I read some of the other comments and didn't believe it. it happened to me As this product has its own power supply, the USB cable must not transmit or receive power. Still, it's unregulated and sends more than enough current to your MB's USB port to kill it. If your USB port is part of a larger chain, e.g. B. 2, 3 or 4 USB ports in a row on your motherboard. All USB ports in the chain die. I lost 2 USB ports on my MB after only connecting it to 1. Worst of all, you only get USB 2.0 speeds if you plug it into a USB 3.0 port. You must connect it to a USB 3.1 port to get USB 3.0 speeds. Even a cheap $4 USB hub doesn't have this problem.
